Beauty Therapy
Working in the beauty industry is a great career choice with endless opportunities for development and variety within different job roles. Beauty therapy offers a life-long career that will adapt to suit lifestyle changes and that will present many opportunities to develop your skills. A beauty therapist will offer a variety of treatments working on the face, body, hands and feet. You can choose to work in a variety of employment settings including a salon, spa and even cruise ships. The world is your oyster!
During this course, you will have the opportunity to learn and perfect a variety of beauty treatments including manicures, pedicures, waxing, lash and brow treatments and facials.
The beauty salon at Skegness is a great place where you can develop your skills, starting by practicing on your fellow students to hone your skills, before moving on to working with paying clients. You can even book in your friends and family to practise your skills on!
Our salons are full of award-winning brands, so you will use the products and equipment that you can expect to use in your future career.

Entry requirements for our courses depend on the specific requirements of each Programme of Study and an individual’s previous experience, which will all be discussed during the interview process. The following list offers a guide as to what you might be expected to achieve to gain entry on to a particular level of a course.
PLEASE NOTE IN SOME AREAS WHERE THERE IS A HIGHER MATHS, OR ENGLISH CONTENT, OR WHERE TECHNICAL SKILLS ARE REQUIRED, THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS MAY BE HIGHER THAN STATED BELOW. APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED OF ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR INDIVIDUAL COURSES AT THEIR INTERVIEW AND THIS IS CHECKED AT ENROLMENT.
Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2 courses generally last one year; Level 3 courses will usually last for two years.
Level 1 Programmes
GCSEs grades1-2 or E to G or equivalent, including Foundation Awards and Entry Level Certificates.
Level 2 Programmes
Level 3 Programmes
Minimum of Level 2 course in chosen subject at merit or above and English language and Maths at level 2.
Progressing to each level of study
Once you successfully completed your course you will be able to progress to the next level, subject to a satisfactory interview with a Tutor.If you’ve finished your Level 3 course you will be offered advice and guidance from our Career Advisers on how to apply for a place at University through UCAS, how to apply for a job, or an Apprenticeship.

Our high achieving Level 3 Beauty Therapy learners are encouraged and supported to participate in UK and Worlds Skills competitions to showcase their ability and raise their professional profile.
