About This Course

If you have a passion for helping people and an interest in working in the health and social care sector, then this is the course for you! There is so much to learn about people in order to properly understand how to care for and support them. The courses offered at Skegness TEC provide you with the breadth of knowedge needed to play a valuable role in this important industry.Students studying at Skegness TEC are able to train in our exceptional, industry standard, facilities where they are able to learn the broad technical knowledge and develop the variety of practical skills which support the next steps on your career pathway.Subjects studied provide you with everything you need to understand and care for both adults and children, together with the opportunity to build the knowledge and skills needed to enter your chosen area of the profession.

Entry Requirements

 

Work Experience

All students who study Health and Social Care will complete a period of work experience as part of their programme. This helps to provide an insight into the wide range of job opportunities and careers within the sector, together with gaining real life experiences that embded the knowledge gained during the course

Students have opportunity to complete work experience in a number of settings including:

  • care homes
  • schools
  • nurseries
  • day centres for adults with learning difficulties
  • residential settings for the elderly, hospital or other medical settings

Trips, Visits & Guest Speakers

During your time on the Health and Social Care course, you will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of additional experiences that with broaden your knowledge and understanding of the industry, including:

  • Providers of residential and domicillary care
  • Hospitals
  • Ambulance service
  • HE providers
  • Early Years Settings
  • Students will also participate in fund-raising events, local community activities, and other events which will broaden your skills and experience.

What Next?

Successful students may progress to a wide variety of job opportunities, and careers, inlcuding:

After Completing Level 3 studies, students make progress to University or Further Studies in subjects including,
