The sector work academy programme takes ten days to complete, and will see those enrolled on the course meet with recruiting employers to learn about the sector, gain an insight into a typical working day and by the end of the course have a guaranteed interview.
National Employer Training and Skegness TEC are both part of the TEC Partnership, which also includes the Grimsby Institute within our region.
The programme signifies the start of a new phase for NET, who have set-up a base at Skegness TEC.
Katie Wheeldon, Director of NET UK said: “We are excited to announce that we are opening our new site based at Skegness TEC, launching our offer with a Level 2 Teaching Assistant award. The very first cohort has already completed with programme with 99% being offered jobs within the education sector.”
Gemma Robinson, Assistant Principal and Campus Director of Skegness TEC said: “This is a great opportunity for people in our region to access relevant training to support their progression into work.”
The sector work academy would support people to access a Level 2 Teaching Assistant Award, which will cover a range of key subject areas including mental health, safeguarding, equality and diversity and fundamental British values.
The next course starts on the 21st August with an information session held on the 16th August that people can book onto. The course is delivered virtually for ease of access, starting every five weeks from the 21st August. The previous cohort saw people from Worksop, Beverley, Hull, Derby, Chesterfield and Leicester enrol due to the online delivery.
Those interested in applying for this opportunity are encouraged to contact Karen Vickers, Business Development Executive at National Employer Training on 07395244600 or email Karen via vickersk@grimsby.ac.uk
