New Skegness Learning Campus Breaks Ground

TEC Partnership is excited to announce the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Skegness Learning Campus, which took place on Friday, 26th April. This milestone event marks the beginning of construction on the eagerly anticipated campus, set to offer a diverse range of vocational education courses tailored to meet the needs of Skegness and its surrounding communities.
 
Supported by a £14 million government-funded Connected Coast Town Deal, the new campus is poised to make a significant impact by providing accessible education opportunities in critical areas such as construction, engineering, hospitality, tourism, and digital skills training. With planning permission secured from the East Lindsey District Council as part of the Skegness Gateway and construction led by Hobson and Porter, the project is now underway at the Wainfleet Road site.
 
Adrian Clarke, Group Vice Principal for Corporate Services at the TEC Partnership, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled that construction is underway on our new Skegness Learning Campus. It is exciting to witness our designs and plans come to fruition. The new learning campus will introduce a broad curriculum and fresh opportunities for the community of Skegness.”
 
Chris Baron, Chair of Connected Coast, echoed this sentiment, saying, “
“The new, state of the art Skegness learning campus is set to be an economic game changer for the area. Not only is it our flagship Town Deal project in Skegness, it is also the single largest Towns Fund project in Lincolnshire.
 
“The new campus is also part of the Skegness Gateway and will be a catalyst for change in the area, providing an inspirational space where local people can get the skills, knowledge, and training they need to access the employment opportunities they want. Consultation is also being carried out with local employers and learning providers to ensure the training offered meets the needs of the local economy now and in the future. 
 
“It is great to see work now underway on this fantastic facility and I look forward to seeing the difference the campus will make within the community and for local people in the years to come.”
 
Sue Bowser, of Croftmarsh said: “The breaking ground ceremony marks a milestone moment for regenerating our East Lincolnshire communities, delivering significant education investment alongside skills opportunity in the area. We are delighted to be part of the occasion, with the new TEC college forming a key part of the wider Skegness Gateway site, which will deliver more than £300m in socio-economic benefits to the communities we serve.”
 
The ground-breaking ceremony marks a significant milestone in the campus development, with completion expected in 2025. Upon its opening, the campus aims to enhance employment opportunities and enrich the community by offering quality education aligned with economic demands.
