Our Beauty Therapy course Information
Level 1 (Preparation for employment in hair and beauty therapy)
Perfect for school leavers, get a high standard of skills while developing employability skills to prepare you for a career in hairdressing or beauty therapy.
The modules are: introduction to the sector, professional image, importance of appearance and behaviour, how the body works and planning an event.
Level 2 (Diploma in hair and beauty)
Develop the skills you need to work in a salon, with modules in: manicure & pedicure, facial treatments, waxing, eye treatments, make up services, shampoo & conditioning, dressing hair, colouring hair and cutting hair.
Level 3 (Diploma in beauty)
You will develop skills in areas such as body massage, Indian head massage, hot stone massage, massage with aromatherapy oils and facial electrotherapy (optional).
Entry Requirements
Level 1: No formal qualifications are required but learners should be working at E2 or above in functional skills.
Level 2: Four GCSEs grade 3 (previously D) or above including in maths and English.
Level 3: Level 2 Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy.
Work Experience
All full-time students get at least 10 days work experience throughout the year. This is a crucial part of development and we work with Hair Euphoria, Shea Hair & Beauty, Lords & Ladies, The Spa at Butlins, Solo and Hair Design among others.
What Next
All of our courses have progression routes built into them, so you can progress through from Level 1 right up to degree level and many Therapists choose to specialise and become aromatherapists, nail technicians, or even go onto special effects make-up design for film, television & theatre or the Foundation Degree in Salon Management.
