The Construction Multi Skills full-time course is suitable for people who are maybe not sure which construction trade is right for them and want to learn the basics of all these trades alongside the skills needed for the daily life and work.

Anyone looking to learn more about what it’s like to get a career in construction will find this Multi Trades course a great place to start. Many Construction workers begin by working with small to medium enterprise organisations (those with less than 250 employees), and many will eventually go on to self-employment.

Subject Details

What you will learn

During the Construction Multi Skills full-time course you will learn aspects of plumbing, electrical installation, carpentry & joinery and more with a view to progression to the next level in your preferred subject.

Course modules include health & safety, tiling, fixing architraves & skirting, fixing licks & latches, painting a panel door, applying finishing coatings, connecting pipes & fittings, constructing plumbing frames, circuit installation and wiring.

Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT are a key part of this programme.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements necessary.

Work Experience

All of our full-time courses come with at least 10 days work experience. We have close ties to Jewson, Graham Plumbers’ Merchant and Plumb Center.

What Next

There are a range of progression opportunities available after successful completion the course that include: carpentry and joinery, electrical installation and plumbing. All of these courses have progression routes built into them which could lead to a fantastic career or even Higher Education.

If you choose to go to university you could study for a HND and HNC in Construction or even a degree, these could all lead you to a fantastic, high-flying career.
